GFA Federal Credit Union Announces Two Promotions

GFA is proud to announce that Christal Brown has been promoted to VP/Director of Marketing, and Brian Rumanowski to AVP/Commercial Lender.

Brown’s promotion to Vice President comes after three years with GFA, in which she has launched new deposit products, loan campaigns, community education initiatives and enhanced GFA’s digital marketing presence. Brown has also aided in expanding the Student Advisory Board to new municipalities and has overseen the shift to the realities of a digital marketing world.

Additionally, during the pandemic, Brown led the Credit Union’s membership outreach and informational efforts that ensured member’s had access to the support they needed. She oversaw digitizing many of GFA’s government and support loan program applications to make it easier for members to access remotely. As GFA moves into a more normal environment, Brown has championed GFA’s reconnections, and new connections, with community organizations that improve the lives of our members and neighbors. Brown holds a Master of Business Administration, Marketing and New Media Design degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

“Our marketing department, and organization, is stronger and ready to tackle the opportunities and challenges the future will bring due to Christal’s contributions. I am confident that she will continue to lead these efforts for GFA successfully, and for many years to come.” said Joshua I. Brier, President and Chief Executive Officer

Rumanowski’s promotion to Assistance Vice President/Commercial Lender comes after four years at GFA. Rumanowski joined the Credit Union in 2018 as a Commercial Credit Administrator, quickly growing to a Credit Analyst in early 2019 and in 2021 was promoted to Commercial Lender.

Under his new title, Rumanowski will continue his outstanding work as Commercial Lender. In 2020 he led GFA’s COVID Business Support Team, assisting hundreds of businesses to navigate through the Small Business Association and other relief programs. In addition, Brian has an outstanding knowledge of cannabis lending, and has worked closely with Tina M. Sbrega, President of Lighthouse Biz Solutions, a Subsidiary of GFA Federal Credit Union, a pioneer in cannabis banking and lending.

“Brian goes above and beyond every day for our members and their businesses. His relentless energy and effort to deliver commercial loans for our members has been unparalleled”, said Tom McGregor EVP, Chief Lending Officer, “Brian is the ultimate teammate with an enterprise perspective always looking to broaden relationships across all of GFA’s platforms.”

Rumanowski holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in finance and economics from Westfield State University, an American Bankers Association Commercial Lending certification, and a Credit Union National Association certification in BSA and Compliance.
